To export data from Salesforce using Data Loader based on a CSV file containing IDs, you can follow these steps:
- Create a CSV file with two columns
- The first column should contain the Salesforce IDs of the records you want to extract.
- The second column can be any field that you want to include in the export.
- You can add a column for all the fields that you want to export.
- Save the CSV file to your computer.
- Open Data Loader and click the Export button.
- In the Object Selection dialog, select the object that contains the records you want to extract.
- In the Field Selection dialog, select the fields that you want to include in the export.
- Click the Advanced button and select the Use External ID to Match Records checkbox.
- In the External ID Field field, select the field in the CSV file that contains the Salesforce IDs of the records you want to extract.
- Click the Finish button.
- In the Export Data dialog, browse to the location where you want to save the export file and click the Save button.
Data Loader will export the records from Salesforce to the CSV file that you specified. The exported file will contain the Salesforce IDs and the fields that you selected in the Field Selection dialog.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind when extracting data from Salesforce using Data Loader:
- You can only export a maximum of 1 million records at a time.
- If the CSV file that you create is larger than 100MB, you will need to split it into multiple files.
- You can use the Data Loader API to automate the export process.
